1. What is a Drop-In Session?

Students join the meeting/s for their level whenever they can! (see schedule). You can drop in once, twice or even for three classes a week! The classes are conversational and not sequential. Meetings will be held every week at the scheduled times and you can decide to join at the last minute! If you’re running a bit late, you’re still welcome to join! (up to 15 minutes).

2. What will class be like?

1. The Question: I will pose a high-frequency question to the group.

2. If you understand the question: Taking turns, you attempt to answer in Spanish! Once you answer, you can pass the mic by asking a classmate the same question or a follow-up.

3. If you didn’t understand the question: Don’t panic! I break the question down on a whiteboard, and help you create a response.

4. Students are also encouraged to ask the class questions about topics of their own interests. The goal is to keep the conversation going to maximize speaking and listening skills!

5. Breakout Rooms may be used if appropriate.

3. Can I just drop in any day?

Yep. The sessions are conversational and not sequential. The more sessions you attend, the more variety in talking topics and additional practice overall.

4. Will there be homework or preparation required before each class?

No homework will be required but it goes without saying (or rather with saying) that reviewing previous notes will very likely boost memory and help cement new items sooner.
Additionally, if you want and can study on your time, the instructor will facilitate reading materials such as dialogues and short texts fully translated to English so that you don’t have to use extra time looking up words elsewhere. That way, you can fully focus more and get ahead with your readings which increases your input, your exposure to new words and new sentence structure!

5. What if I join a session but the level is not for me?

I can get you in the other level next time you’re available so you don’t lose your paid session.
