For several years, I have been taking classes with Carlos Francia and will continue to do so because he provides useful and effective instruction. His degree in linguistics distinguishes Carlos from other teachers I have studied under since he knows the structure of languages and can communicate it in a clear and concise manner. Because of the way Carlos explains the language concepts, I have consistently improved my Spanish and am convinced that he will provide practical ways for me to continue my progress in the future as I attempt to speak at a high level. In addition to being extremely professional, Carlos is friendly, open-minded, and humorous which makes speaking to him in both Spanish and English a total joy. This is essential since I certainly would not want to take classes with a linguistics expert who is boring to speak to.

Carlos is an excellent teacher. As someone who began lessons knowing virtually no Spanish at all, he has been incredibly patient. Carlos tailors each lesson to my evolving level. He has a really encouraging teaching style and challenges me to continue to take risks. He can quickly shift teaching styles to try out new methods that meet my individual learning needs. He takes time to design and tailor each lesson to his students interests. I work in a school and he has helped me craft sentences that I frequently need to use in order to communicate with my students families. Lessons are fun, and filled with interesting facts about the Spanish language, and language in general (he speaks multiple languages). I've tried more traditional Spanish classes in the past, and I can confidently say that I have learned much more through my lessons with Carlos. I would highly suggest working with him!
