New 8-session Spanish Class via Zoom starts on June 10th!
Sign up by Wednesday, June 3
Q: What will class be like?
A: In each class, we will analyze and practice common structures needed for everyday conversations. This class covers common language functions such as:
Greetings and discussing occupations
Expressing likes and dislikes
Describing people, places, and activities
Expressing quantities for temperature, speed, height, weight, etc.
Asking for and giving advice
Describing past and future plans and activities
Expressing needs and obligations
Comparing people, places, objects and ideas
Q: Will I benefit from this class if I am a solid intermediate level?
A: Absolutely yes. As an intermediate student or even as an advanced learner you may have grammatical and lexical (vocabulary) gaps required for language functions (examples above). These language functions demand a variety of sentence structures, tenses, and vocab words in order to communicate (speak AND listen) effectively.
Q: What if I have to miss a class or two?
A: The sessions are not progressive and are independent of each other so missing one of them will not make you less ready for others. This course is offered as a 8-session package but you may attend fewer sessions if you are unable to make them all.
Q: Will there be homework or preparation required before each class?
A: No homework will be required but it goes without saying (or rather WITH saying) that reviewing previous notes will very likely boost memory and help cement new items presented in subsequent sessions.
Additionally, if you want and can study on your time between sessions, the instructor will facilitate extra reading materials such as dialogues and short texts.
